My blog will be focus on Migraine Headaches, what causes them, and how to treat them. I have suffer with Migraines since I was six years old. Only one other person in my family also has Migraine which is my Uncle. We are on similar medication but I am on a higher dose because I receive them more frequently.

Migraine

More than 29 million Americans suffer with migraine headaches. Women suffer three times more than men. Some trigger that cause migraine headaches are a bad sleep cycle, caffeine, missing meals, bright lights, sunlight, certain foods, and loud noises. Stress can only make the headache worst.

Foods that Causes Migraines

My triggers

When I was younger and I first began experiencing Migraine Headaches, my doctor gave me a long list of foods to stay away from. The list included chocolate, caffeine, and some fruit just to name a few. After me and my mom went through the list, I knew what to stay away from but I also learned that the list wasn't the only things I had to stay away from. I found out the hard way that MSG(mono-sodium glutamate) gives me really bad headaches. MSG is usually cook in Chinese food.

Common Migraine Triggers

Some common migraine triggers are weather change, strong, light, some odors, certain foods,loud or sudden noises, eating habits, sleep habits or change in sleep habits, stress,and physical exertion.

My Diagnosis

When I was eleven, my parents took me to a new doctor because they wanted answers. I was always having these headaches that was robbing me of my childhood. My doctor order a MRI(magnetic resonance imaging) and a CAT or CT (Computed Tomography) scan and we found out what was really going on.
